Résumé :
This paper looks at potential financial pressures on Canada's health system from population ageing. The paper includes a basic overview of demographic and health system trends, and some surprising results that show that the estimated impact of population ageing on health expenditure growth has been small relative to other factors to date. More striking are the paper's findings regarding health human resources and the anticipated rate of physician retirements over the next fifty years.
