Résumé :
NICE is a network of practitioners and academic researchers in geriatric medicine, nursing and social work.
This network will bring together the three most important professions who provide social, psychological and physical care to older persons in Canada.
The Network will invite university educators from gerontological nursing, geriatric medicine, and gerontological social work to join in a national partnership with their community counterparts who currently provide the educational component of practice for these programs.
The overarching goal will be the dissemination of research and best practices for the care of older adults. Specifically, NICE will share research about evidence-based practice within an interdisciplinary team context across the university ­ community continuum.

L'Initiative nationale pour le soin des personnes âgées (NICE) (http://www.nicenet.ca) constitue un nouveau réseau national de praticiens communautaires et de chercheurs spécialisés en gérontologie. Son lancement officiel a eu lieu le 14 juin. Subventionnée par les Réseaux de centres d'excellence, l'Initiative a pour but d'encourager le transfert des connaissances touchant les meilleures pratiques dans le soin des aînés; c'est le premier réseau du genre au Canada. La date du lancement officiel a été choisie pour coïncider avec le Mois des aînés, célébré en juin de chaque année.
