Résumé :

Commissioned by DG SANTE, the Scoping study on communication to address and prevent chronic diseases is developed in partnership by ICF International, the European Centre and LAMA Development Agency and aims to provide evidence and insights into the design of successful public health communication campaigns in a cross-border setting.

Focusing on the four main risk factors of smoking, unhealthy diet, sedentary lifestyle and alcohol consumption, the study provides an overview of the key issues on communication to tackle chronic diseases; identifies differences in communicating about major risk factors and develops a set of Key Design Principles (KDPs) to underpin future cross-border communication campaigns.

The team at the European Centre will design and coordinate four expert focus groups, with international participants comprising academics, practitioners and policy experts, in view of validating and refining the Key Design Principles (as they emerge from a systematic literature review and a case study analysis).
